Such a long time ago I can hardly remember what I ate! What I know for sure is that food was good and the restaurant was a super busy, family-run, incredibly charming establishment in a very nice street just off Queensway.

Forget to eat there if you haven’t got a reservation. This place, I was told later by a friend after, is very well known.

Another thing I remember very well was a teenage bitch, sitting next to us with her family, putting up a scene because she “had” to go out with friends and she was late and “had” to eat IM-ME-DIA-TELY!!! On top of it she liked nothing from the menu and wouldn’t order anything, but she was desperately hungry and determined to get food. A beautifully grilled kebab landed on her table in no time. She obviously didn’t thank anyone, despite the owner having bent over backwards to make her happy. In any other restaurant in the world someone would have spit in her plate! We left swiftly after coffee and baklava (both good) before my desire to get up and slap her became uncontainable!

This one was great! It has been a while since we went there in May but I can still remember how good everything was. Particularly the classic Middle Eastern dishes which can be found ubiquitously in London, often in terrible format, were prepared wonderfully and exceptionally well balanced.

The restaurant itself is lovely. The furniture and ambience are Persian-chic and in no way tacky, the patrons a mix of Notting Hill cool and Bayswater genuine Iranian.

Service was speedy, efficient, and smiling.

Overall, this is a restaurant I would happily go back to or take someone out to, even outside the mission. Excellent.
